ARTIST STATEMENT:
“This work embraces the constant exchange between my objective for the clay and clay's intrinsic ability to succumb to natural forces. Time, temperature, humidity, gravity, etc. inform each piece with unprompted movement, sometimes an anthropomorphic gesture. Forms emerge spontaneously, and an odd bulge or strange posture provides an opportunity to resist my usual desire for perfection and control. It is a constant collaboration between myself and the medium, offering an infinite amount of unexpected novelty.”
